In a heart-wrenching yet inspiring account, Aline Gahongayire (Dr. Alga), recently shared her personal story of loss and resilience.
Dr. Alga had been eagerly anticipating the birth of her child, initially believing she was carrying a boy whom she planned to name Yuhi. However, as her pregnancy progressed, she discovered she was expecting a girl. This news filled her with joy and excitement as she prepared for her daughter's arrival.
Tragically, on that fateful September day, Dr. Alga's world was shattered when her daughter, whom she named INEZA, was stillborn. In a poignant twist of fate, instead of setting up a nursery, she found herself planning a funeral. "I didn't put her in a crib but in a coffin," Dr. Alga recalled, her words heavy with emotion.
Despite the overwhelming grief, Dr. Alga found solace in her faith. She credits her belief in Jesus Christ for providing her with the strength and peace to navigate through this dark period. "I thank Jesus because if I didn't have Him, I would be crazy," she stated.
The experience, while devastating, became a catalyst for positive change in Dr. Alga's life. In 2024, a decade after her loss, she channeled her emotions into a song titled "September Six," using her music to process her grief and inspire others facing similar challenges.
Furthermore, Dr. Alga's tragedy spurred her to action. She founded the NDINEZA ORGANIZATION, a charitable initiative that provides food and educational support to children in need. Through this work, she has found a way to honor her daughter's memory and create a lasting, positive impact.
Dr. Alga, who is also mother to another daughter named Piano (or Mugisha Pamela), now uses her platform to encourage others facing adversity. Her message is one of hope and resilience, urging people to find strength in their faith during difficult times.
As she concluded her story, Dr. Alga dedicated her song to INEZA with the touching words, "REST IN PEACE, INEZA. Mom will always love you." Her journey from profound loss to purposeful living serves as a powerful testament to the human spirit's capacity for healing and transformation.
